Seaton Rugby League Club Match Report

Seaton 14    Glasson Rangers 6

Seaton continued with there unbeaten start to the season but shorn of a number of key men and severely hampered by the early loss of Callum Phillips and Marc Routledge they had to come through there toughest test of the season before they managed to claim the two points. They were caught cold early on when poor defence bough a Danny Barker dummy and go and he had Brad Nixon on his shoulder to go under the sticks with Nixon converting his own try for a 6 nil lead. Seaton hit back fairly soon after as they were playing with a strong wind and the outstanding Paul Bell who was the catalyst for the win took the ball and powered over from 15 metres out with men hanging off him, Moyle adding the goal and the lead was taken before half time when Bell this time turned the supplier for Shaun Johnsen Moyle failing to convert this time but with the Craig Fisher kicking game pegging back Glasson thats how it stayed. Playing with a strong wind in the second half Glasson would have fancied there chances but very rarely got out of there half and wasted to many kicks by putting them long and past the dead ball line. The game was made safe with 6 minutes to go when a mix up at the back by Glasson saw the ball go Loose and Kevin Wilson gratefully pounced to score an unconverted try
