Hensingham 8 Seaton 16
Seaton ground out a tough away win against a young Hensingham team that belied its lowly league position and while never really looking like snatching a win certainly gave food for thought to a Seaton team that panicked when tied at 8 all. Played on a field that quickly turned into a mud bath Paul Rooke who was outstanding at full back chimed into the line to score the first try of the game and his for nearly two seasons!!!! The kick was missed by Fisher but it was all Seaton as there defence exerted pressure upon pressure but could not control the ball well enough playing into the wind and Hensingham went in ahead when just before half time Seaton ran the ball on the last and the loose ball was pounced on by Hensingham who broke away and score under the posts. Seaton were soon level in the second half when a short kick from Fisher was pounced on by Moyle but the conversion was missed and Hensingham soon levelled it up when a penalty in front of the sticks was converted for an 8 all game and it stayed that way with lots of Seaton pressure let down by panic football until another Fisher kick through was pounced on by Kevin Wilson Moyle this time missing the easy kick but the game was finally made safe when Seaton finally ran the ball and the dangerous Ryan Blair was on hand to supply an excellent finish. A fourth try but a fourth missed conversion. Man of the match on the day was Paul Rooke who was faultless at the back
