A huge
crowd gathered to watch these two undefeated
teams and were,nt
disappointed by the match that lived up to
expectations.
After a bout of tactical kicking from both
sides, Seatons stand off, Domonic
Smallwood darted over the line from 30 yards
with Kieran Mewes adding the
conversion. The young Brow side replied after a
wonderful passage of play
from their back line which started deep within
their own half and finished
with Connor McAleavy diving under the posts for
a superb try which he
converted himself.
On 15 minutes,after a barnstorming run from
second rower, Jon Carl Bryan,
Seaton centre Kieran Mewes went on a mazy cross
field run then stepped of
his left foot to leave the Brow defence in his
wake to score a wonderful
solo try, Mewes added the conversion to give
Seaton a 12-6 lead.
Wath Brows responce was brilliant, attacking
play from left to right left
Connor McAleavy in enough space to dive over for
a try which again was
converted by himself.
Seatons prolific winger, Billy Southward,
scorched down the touch line
following a great move off a scrum on their own
20 yard line with Mewes
adding the conversion.
Brows Adam Megan barged his way over from short
range, and with the missed
conversion Seaton were 18 - 16 up at half time.
A wonderful first half of rugby in which Seaton
had an outstanding 100%
completion rate.
These two evenly matched sides produced some
fabulous attacking rugby which
was met with equaly ferocious tackling with
Seatons massive prop forward,
Stuart Galacher bursting his way over for a try
which Mewes Converted.
Brow got back on terms following a kick to the
corner which was picked up
and scored by Greg Roony with McAleavy adding
the conversion.
Man of the match, Domonic Smallwood burst
through the Brow line after great
work from Greg Kerr and Jon Carl Bryan and
scored a great try converted by
Mewes.
The final try of the match came from Wath Brows
Curtis Tear after a
speculative high bomb from Connor McAleavy with
McAleavy adding the
conversion.
A very enjoyable match with both sides scoring
five quality tries each and
only a missed conversion the difference between
these two sides.
