GLASSON 14 V SEATON 22
Glasson Rangers entertained Seaton Rangers where the sides met for the
second time in four days. Seaton opened the scoring when good hands from
Jack Earl, Greg Kerr and Domonic Smallwood released Conor Fitsimmons who
showed excellent pace and strength to score under the posts. Kerr added
the conversion.
As Glasson pressed for an equalising try, Seaton winger Billy Southward
sniffed out a stray Glasson pass and strolled in for a great opportunist
try which Kerr converted.
Constant Glasson pressure on the Seaton line resulted in Albie Towers
going in at the corner after a strong run from dangerous centre Jamie
Blamire. Seatons big prop forward Stuart Galacher almost created a
superb try for second row Greg Benson but only an ankle tap prevented
him scoring. Mean defence from Dan Davis forced a Glasson knock on and
from the scrum Nathan Postlethwaite was held up just short of the try
line, Jack Earl picked out Conor Fitsmmons with a quality pass and he
barged over the line and giving a half time score of Glasson 4 Seaton
16.
A Glasson knock on from the re-start seen big Dan Monkhouse go close and
on the last tackle Fitzsimmons completed his hat trick of tries by
ghosting in at the corner. Small wood converted.
Glasson produced two late tries from Jonathon Cameron and Jamie Blamire
with Cameron Carter converting leaving a final score line of Glasson 14
Seaton 22.
Another well supported game with both teams applauded from the pitch in
a game played in great spirit although very competitive.
