Seaton Under 12s Match Report

Seaton  10    Kells  12

Seaton played their last league game of the season against a well organised Kells side who had worked hard on their defence to claim a very tight victory.

A Seaton knock on straight from the kick off put the home side under immediate pressure, on the fourth tackle, Kells centre Jake Corrie scooted in at the corner despite good covering defence from Billy Southward.

Seaton could not get out of their own half with some ferocious Kells tackling, well led by Richard Marr. Kells defensive display earned them another try when elusive centre, Corrie scored unopposed in the corner and giving Kells a  0 – 8 advantage.

Seaton had to score the next try and did after good work from forwards Greg Benson and Dan Monkhouse whio gave Kieran Mewes the opportunity to place a clever kick in the corner for Billy Southward to score and to give a half time score of  4 – 8.

Kells man of the match, Richard Marr went on a strong diagonal run and just managed to hold off the covering Seaton defence to score a fine individual try.

From the kick off Seaton enjoyed continuous possession but could not penetrate the Kells line despite  monumental performances from Seaton hooker Jack Earl, Domonic Smallwood and Conor Fitzsimmons.

Kane Bond, enjoyed very good debut for Seaton and was rewarded with a try which was created by his winger, Billy Southward which Mewes converted and to give a final score of Seaton 10  Kells 12  which meant that Seaton finished the season as league runners up.
