LOWCA 10 V
SEATON 44 Lowca and Seaton battled from start
to finish with the heavy rain playing a major part in the way the game was
played, but still managed to produce some great attacking rugby. Seatons Conor
Fitzsimmons scored an early try after good work from Jack Earl, Dan Monkhouse,
Domonic Smallwood and scrum half Gregg Kerr, the conversion was missed. Fitzsimmons was back under the Lowca
posts after using his strength for a one on one ball steal with Kieran Mewes
adding the conversion. This sparked Lowca into action
with aggressive running from their forwards and only a dropped ball on the line
stopped them scoring. A Smallwood kick on the last tackle
resulted in a Lowca drop out which landed in the hands of Jack Earl who burst
the Lowca line then fed Kieran Mewes who dived over the line for a fine try.
Mewes converted. Strong defensive play by Jack Parker
and Brandon Renny gave Seaton the chance to collect a loose ball on the half
way line which Kieren Mewes picked up and went under the Lowca posts, he also
added the conversion. After a good run from Jon Carl
Bryan, tackled just short of the line, Seaton hooker, Jack Earl collected and
burrowed his way over and with Mewes converting gave Seaton a half time lead
of 0 -28. The rain came down even harder as
the second half begun making for a scrappy first 10 minutes, Kieran Mewes
dummied his way over from 30 yards out and then scored his fourth of the match
when bursting onto a ball after good work from Tommy Lee Armstrong and adding
one conversion. Lowca scored two superb tries in two
minutes, one of which came from 40 yards out and kicked one conversion. The final try of the game came from
Liam Williamson jinking his way over, after poweful runs from Josh Ayer and Harvy
Robinson, and with Kerr converting giving a final score line of Lowca 10
Seaton 44.
