Egremont 16 - Seaton 18. Seaton began this game well and played some good flowing rugby. Brett Symes opened the scoring after selling the defence a dummy, Stephen Clarke added the conversion. From the restart Seatons forwards made good yards and on the last tackle Scott Rooke collected a cross field kick from Symes to score and with Clarke adding the conversion Seaton led 12-0. Good defence from both sides kept scores to a minimum but Egremont scored a good try on half time to trail 12-6 at the break. Egremont had a lot of possession in the second half and time and time again Seaton successfully defended their line. The defensive work by Seaton took its toll and Egremont scored 2 quick tries out wide to lead 16-12.Seaton deserve a lot of credit for coming back into the game and big Danny Hargreaves went 60 yards for a spectacular try which Clarke converted to give Seaton the lead. The last 10 mins were evenly matched but neither team could find their way through some good defence. |
