Seaton 16 Broughton Red Rose 24.

These teams met for the second week running and this time it was Broughton who came away with the points. Seaton began well but Broughton withstood the pressure and it was Jay Rossi who opened the scoring cleverly collecting a kick through to race away and give his side a 6-0 lead. Playing into a strong wind Seaton worked their way up the field and Lewis Crellin dummied his way through on last tackle to score and with John Richardson adding the conversion it was 6-6. From the kick off Harry Kaufman stole the ball in a tackle and raced away to regain the lead. Broughton then scored an identical try to the first to go in at half time 16-6 up. With the wind behind them Seaton applied early pressure and Callum Phillips brought them back into the game selling the defence a dummy to score. Seaton continued to attack Broughtons line but their defence stood firm and a break from their own quarter saw Jay Rossi sprint away to score to give Broughton a 20-10 lead. Again Seaton bravely came back and once again Callum Phillips broke the line to score, Richardson added the conversion and at 20-16 it was anybody's game. The last 10 minutes was about excellent defence from both teams and in the dying seconds Broughton clinched the game with a try out wide.
