Egremont 18 Seaton 16.

This was an outstanding game of rugby league by 2 committed sides and there really didn’t deserve to be a loser. Egremont started the game well and scored after a lot of pressure on the Seaton line. Seaton gradually got back into the game and good hands saw Jordan Tinkler burst through to score and Jon Richardson added the conversion to give seaton a 6-4 lead. An error from the kick off gifted Egremont good field position from which they capitalised to take an 8-6 lead. Seaton regained the lead after a good scrum move saw Callum Phillips put Carl Stephenson through a gap and Stephenson went 30 yards to give seaton a 10-8 lead. Seaton scored again on the stroke of half time when brilliant hands saw Joe quail collect and carry 2 defenders over the line. Richardson added the conversion and Seaton led 16-8. Egremont began the second half well and 2 quick tries saw them take an 18-16 lead.
Seaton tried valiantly but brutal defence from both sides ensured there were no more tries and both teams deserve a lot of credit for their efforts.
