Seaton
14 Salterbeck 14.
Salterbeck began this game well and quickly adapted to the poor
conditions laying siege to the Seaton line. The pressure eventually told
and Salterbeck crossed for a converted try. Superb defence by both teams
meant the scored stayed that way until half time. Seaton gradually
worked their way back into the game and good hands saw Alex Mcdonald
score out wide to reduce the deficit. Good yards by Tom Mcgeen gave
Seaton good field position and fast hands saw Shane Ackerley score out
wide with John Richardson adding the conversion to give Seaton a 10-6
lead. More good pressure from Seaton saw Jordan Tinkler crash over to
give Seaton a 14-6 lead. Ross Thompson brought Salterbeck back into the
game with a unconverted try and from the kick off Seaton gave away a
penalty resulting in Salterbeck scoring out wide to share the points.
Both sets of players deserve a lot of credit for their efforts in
appalling conditions.
