Seaton 2  v  Egremont  14

  In their last game of the season Seaton put up a brilliant performance before going down narrowly to league winners Egremont. Seatons opening defence was immense, regularly driving back their bigger opponents. Seaton took a 2-0 lead thanks to a Jon Richardson penalty for a high tackle on Dan Watson who played no further part in the game. Against the run of play Egremont scored a converted try to take a 6-2 lead in at the break. The second half was end to end with some brilliant rugby on show from both sides. Egremont scored out wide to lead 10-2 before Seaton had a try disallowed for a forward pass. Egremont scored again out wide to clinch the game but Seaton can take a great deal of credit for their efforts on the day and throughout the season in which they finished 3rd in a very competitive league. Well done to the Seaton lads and to Egremont for winning the league.
