This was a tough game of rugby played in atrocious conditions. It was scoreless after 15 mins due to some great defence by both sides. Egremont took a 6-0 lead before Nathan Kirkbride broke the line to bring Seaton back into the game. On the back of a heavy penalty count Egremont scored 2 quick tries to take a 14-6 lead. A great ball by Richard Johnstone put Carl Stephenson into a gap and the big second rower handed off the full back to bring the score back to 14-8 at half time. The second half was a war of attrition and for 20 mins neither team could find their way through some uncompromisable defence. Playing down the slope Egremont began to gain better field position and 2 late tries by them clinched the points.
